I feel like I have a fairly unique combination of technical and soft skills that has been built using a non-standard career path over the years. While my professional expertise continues to be in the realm of information security I have also started and ran a pair of startups on the side along with mentoring three different startups in various ways over the years. I would like to provide mentorship not only on my information security skills, but also skills I have picked up through formal education (MBA from DePaul in Entrepreneurship), winning a pitch competition, starting a business from a Startup Weekend, and playing a role currently as a member of an Advisor Board on a Computer Security startup that went through Tech Stars in Chicago. I love finding business value and connecting the dots between product and market fit. I love coaching and feel like I could help the right startup find their footing. I've also done most of my 20+ years of information security at various Insurance companies over the years so I have knowledge of that sector as well, especially as it pertains to security needs.
